About Lancaster Montessori
Our school is designed for children as old as 6 to ones as young as 2.5 (provided that they are fully potty trained.) We specialize in educating kids through the Montessori method. Specifically through the Montessori Early Childhood curriculum, which encourages preschoolers to explore and discover, to collaborate with classmates, and to take ownership of their education.
The Montessori Method encourages self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth.
Another key factor to making our school work is through parent involvement.
Lancaster Montessori depends on family involvement in activities ranging from mulching the playground to serving on committees to cleaning the classroom.
We encourage all parents to take an active role in the education of their child by attending parent education gatherings, various after school events (Mom's Night, Dad's Night, Winterfest, Mother's Tea), and two parent/teacher conferences. It is the goal of our school to create a community of parents, children, and teachers who are dedicated to working together to build a foundation for a lifetime of creative learning.
